<br />EXHIBIT D - WILDLIFE, WATER RESOURCES, VEGETATION, SOILS <br />Wildlife <br />The proposed mining azea is agricultural land. There aze three <br />housing Zmits nearby and a separate group of barns and out-buildings. <br />The site has been intensively utilized as pasture and is greatly <br />changed from its natural state. Construction of the I-70 highway <br />has limited wildlife access to and use of the site. Nearby riparian <br />wildlife habitat will be undisturbed by mining. _ <br />-`. ~i~oals which -use the~.site include dees,`_rabbits and ffice_ A <br />variety of-birds frEgueat the area_ Obviously,~wildlife present om <br />the site now are accustomed to human activities. The <br />reclamation plan envisions a terrace face with drainage toward the <br />south. Drainage will not flow to the Eagle River but will be <br />utilized for irrigation on-site. <br />Vegetation <br />The site'i-s evriently:heavily grazed ~ma-pastnre. Pasture grasses <br />and.forhs range from moderate to heavy rover. <br />Soils <br />s <br />Soils are shallow at this site, ranging from 1 to 12 inches, with the <br />
