State Rea.
7-4A. Monthly same-day data for June thrrnx~t September are
su~mnariZed in Table 7-55. Also, for Sites NPDFS 002 and 003, ZUS
values far June throtx3h September calculated from canbining the flow
and quality of water discharging fran these sites are presented in
Table 7-56.
Aooordi~x3 to Table 7-55, the range in 'IDS at Site SW-S2-1 for June is
fran 355 mg/1 in 1984 to 608 mg/1 in 1986 with an average of 497
mg/1; for July, from 465 mg/1 in 1984 to 620 mg/1 in 1986 with an
average of 553 mg/1; for August, from 495 mg/1 in 1984 to 620 mg/1 in
1986 with an average of 548 mg/1; for September from 515 mg/1 to 624
m7/1 with an average of 554 mg/1. At Site SW-52-2, range in 'IDS for
June is frc~ 684 mg/1 in 1984 to 1406 mg/1 in 1981 with an average of
1104 mg/1; for July, frratl 1385 mg/1 in 1984 to 1650 [[g/1 in 1981 with
an average of 1511 mg/1; for August, fray 1290 mg/1 in 1983 to 2015
mg/1 in 1982 with an average of 1561 mg/1; and for September, from •
1230 m3/1 in 1986 to 2000 m3/1 in 1985 with an average of 1685 m3/1.
Fran the ocenbined ZDS data for Sites NPi)FS 002 and 003 presented in
Table 7-56, for June, TDS ranges fran 1951 mg/1 in 1982 to 2499 mg/1
in 1986; for July, fran 2157 mg/1 in 1982 to 2673 mg/1 in 1986; for
August, from 2315 mg/1 in 1982 to 2726 mg/1 in 1986; and for
Septembers, fran 2304 m3/1 in 1982 to 2748 mg/I in 1983. Zhese data
indicate that during the past six years of record, there does not
appear to be a trend of increasing TDS concentration in effluent
dischal~ing fran the mine disturbance area within the Little Glassy
Creek drainage. In fact, the records seem to show that the quality
of the water has stablized and that the variations in ZDS which are
seen are more likely attributable to the natural flux of the surface
airl ground water systems than to mining disturbance. 'this conclusion
is substantiated by the relatively stable quality of the spoils
4~ water observed in Well GW-S27 (see Table 7-75 in Sec.-tion
VII.A.2.b.). For the period of record (1981-1986), ?DS •
concentrations generally range between 2400
7-217 Revised 10/17/94
