State Rea.
there are an additional two monitoring sites, NPDFS 002 (Wadge
Impo.nt) and NPDFS 003 (Shop Reservior) which continuously
monitor runoff frcatt the mining area and the shop facility area,
respectively.
At monitoring Sites SW-S2-1 arr3 SW-S2-2, mean monthly flow is
difficult to accn>Lately quantify because only monthly instantaneous
flora ~++pa~~rements are available. Flow data for June through
September fran 1981 to 1986 are presented in Table 7-55. For
discussion purposes in Section VII.A.l.c., same-day instantaneous
flow measurements at Sites NP'DFS 002 and 003 are also presented in
this table. At Site SW-S2-1, the range in flow for June is from
0.039 cfs in 1981 to 7.891 cfs in 1984 with an average of 2.596 cfs;
for July, from rto flow in 1981 attd 1982 to 1.027 in 1986 with an
average of 0.527 cfs; for August, from no flow in 1981 and 1982 to
• 0.712 cfs in 1984 with an average of 0.268 cfs; and for September,
from no flow in 1981 atxl 1982 to 0.464 in 1984 with an average of
0.162 cfs. At Site SZ+T-S2-2, the range in flow for June is from 0.121
cfs in 1981 to 10.057 cfs in 1984 with an average of 3.253 cfs; for
July, from 0.054 cfs in 1981 to 2.058 cfs in 1984 with an average of
0.953 cfs; for August, fr®tt 0.006 cfs in 1981 to 1.114 cfs in 1985
with an average of 0.482 cfs; and for September, from 0.002 cfs in
1981 to 0.959 cfs in 1984 with an average of 0.449 cfs.
At monitoring Sites NPDES 002 and 003, the combined mean tronthly flow
for June throtlc~l September from 1981 to 1986 is shoran in Z`able 7-56.
Fnge in flora for June is fran 0.128 cfs in 1981 to 2.119 cfs in
1984; for July, froth no flow in 1981 to 0.573 cfs in 1984; for
August, from no flow in 1981 to 0.448 cfs in 1985; and for September,
fran rto flow in 1981 to 0.341 cfs in 1986. When evaluating these
data, it is itcq~ortant to note that for the period of record,
app*~»tely 7,480,000 gallons per month (0.386 cfs) have been
• putted from the Wadge It~wndtnent for road dust suppression purposes.
In addition,
7-188 Revised 10/17/94
