Samples were collected and
analyzed to satisfy Condition #1 of the Mined Land Reclamation Board's approval of
GCC Rio Grande's 112c mining permit application: Baseline Water Quality Sampling.
Gxoundwatex sampling fox the month of Apti12003 was conducted on April 23, 2003.
The anticipated sampling date for the April event listed in the Condition #1
Gxoundwatex Sampling Plan was April 14, 2003. Sampling methods followed those
outlined in the Condition # 1 Groundwater Sampling Plan dated March 2003.
Gxoundwatex samples were collected from the Saint Charles River alluvial aquifer at
monitoring well locations MW-002, MW-003, and, MW-004 and from the Dakota
aquifer at monitoring well DW-1. Gxoundwatex was not detected in monitoring well
MW-001A installed in the Codell sandstone; therefore, MW-OOIA could not be
sampled. Samples were analyzed fox the parameters listed in Condition #1. The
analytical results axe summarized in Tables 1, 2, 3, and 4.
Attachment A presents copies of the analytical reports prepared by ACZ Laboratories,
Inc. and Reservoirs Environmental, Inc. Sample MW-005 is a duplicate sample
collected from monitoring well MW-004. Sample MW-006 is an equipment blank
collected by pouring bottled distilled water over equipment used at multiple
monitoring well locations.
P:\Data\GEMF-S-P-722421\Permi[[ing\S[ipulafion Response\Gxoundwatex Sampling Plan\DMG TransmitalsWpril
2001revised 7.11.03.doc
E n v i r o n m e n t a l E n g i n e e r s es' C o n s u l t a n t s
