To clarify the <br />situation for the records I have attached a map showing the loca- <br />tion of the two ponds. This map is part if the OMLR permit for <br />this project. <br />Originally, the small pond Pond "B" on the east side of the per- <br />mit area served as suction pond for the drilling operation during <br />the tunnel excavation. Later, the company obtained some addi- <br />tional waterrights and water was taken directly out of the <br />Colorado River and transported to the operating area via a small <br />pipeline. Since then, the Pond "B" has only been used within the <br />irrigation system of the ranch outside the disturbed area and on <br />occasions as stock watering pond. <br />The pond does not serve any function within the proposed mining <br />operations and should be eliminated from the Discharge Permit. <br />Sincerely, <br />G >, <br />E.
