• predicted deformation of the pins after installation is shown on Figure 7 and the shear and
moments developed within the pins during the deformation is in Appendix D.
4.4 RCC Buttress
The FLAC and ALGOR computer models and hand calculations were used to design the anchoring
system for the RCC buttress. A Figure with the results of the FLAC model is in Appendix E.
4.5 Summary
The important aspect of the different models and the results is that they can be used as part of the
Observational Approach to evaluate the landslides' performance. The analyses show that the
existing corrective measures will stabilize the toe but movement at the head is still a possibility.
Based upon the monitoring data, additional corrective measures at the head may be implemented.
Additional corrective measures that have been proposed at the head of the landslide include
dewatering trenches and the walUbuttress at the Portals.
•
•
0626024\58991-LABM 9
