• Disturbed area boundaries and stream buffer zones have been <br />clearly marked and will be maintained in accordance with Section 4.02 <br />and 4.06 of the CMr,Rn Regulations for Coal Mining. Stream buffer zone <br />signs have been placed in high traffic areas on site and will be <br />placed along the entire length of the Purgatoire River within the <br />permit boundary by December 30, 1986. <br />Protection of Public Parks and Historic Places <br />Research of the National Register of Historic Places indicates <br />that there are no historic places near the New Elk Mine which will be <br />affected by the mine's operation. There are also no publicly owned <br />parks in the area which will be affected by the New Elk Mine <br />operation. <br />Surface Mining Near Underground Mining <br />No surface mining is currently taking place in the vicinity of <br />the New Elk Mine. To Basin's knowledge, no surface mines are planned <br />in the near future which would conflict with the operation of the New <br />Elk Mine. <br />Subsidence Survey, Monitoring, and Control Plan <br />A subsidence control plan has been prepared for the New Elk <br />• Mine and is shown on Map 20, Subsidence Control Plan. All structures <br />and renewable resource lands which exist in the permit and adjacent <br />areas are shown on this map. <br />Renewable resource lands exist in the form of the Purgatoire <br />River and associated alluvial valley floor. The location of this <br />renewable resource is shown on Map 20, Subsidence Control Plan. The <br />description of the renewable resource lands has been completed and is <br />shown in Exhibit 8, Hydrology and Geology Information. <br /> <br />(Revised 05/11/94) <br />2.05-90g <br />
