TIMETABLE OF OPERATIONS b RECLAMATION PLAN <br />The operator ie the prime contractor for the coaatruction of hhe Mt. Elbert Conduit <br />U.S, Bureau of Reclamation Department of the Znterior. Thin project requires <br />approximately 115,000 cubic yards oP high qualitq mineral aggregate for bedding and <br />backfill of the 90" conduit. Thin material is not available on the project but ie <br />avallLbls on the applied for ails. The area to be excavated ie dry land and is on <br />a Bide hill. The excavation of this material will be a screening operation with <br />excavation with froatend loaders and trucks and will be excavated to maximum depth <br />of one foot, with all aide elopes no steeper than 3:1. Tho haul road will affect <br />some trees but is ~xi.eting already and will only be improved. The operator proposes <br />to reclaim 5 acres and leave 5 scree to ba used by Lake County at a later date. The <br />area will be planted Co site adapted plsata ae recommended by the United State <br />Forest Sezviee. The topsail from the area (4 to 6 inches) will be etoakpilad end <br />replaced on the site. The operatiog.w111 start on the east aide end the materiel <br />eo placed will be distributed evenly to maintain the slppss at no steeper than 3s1. <br />The area will be graded to drain. <br />=Ysa removal of the material will begin May 31, 1977 with completion oP the processing <br />by September 30, 1977. however a portion of the process material will be stockpiled <br />oa the unrecleimed 5 acres for use on the project in 1978.
