_ The TDS at the No Name site ~6'S) which is downstream of the Last sediment pond,
was observed to vary from 186 to 2230 mg/1. Most concentrations of TDS from the
Nu Name site wece greater than 1000 mg/l. Similar concentrations were also
observed for the downstream No Name site, S9, which is located approximately one
mile downstream of site S5. Roads were the only disturbance in No Name drainage
until 1979. The TSS in No Name has varied considerably during the Last Eour
years. A significant difference between the two No Name sites has been observed.
Additional load entering No Name Gulch between the two sites probably caused the
higher concentrations downstream on 3/07/80. The lowest pH which was observed in
the surface water from the two No Name sites was 6.7. Total iron and manganese
concentrations have varied considerably in the surface water in No Name Gulch.
Some of the results Eor the No Name sites in Table 4.8-8 are probably representa-
tive of baseline conditions. Table 4.8-9 gives the concentrations from samples
which were taken from the settling reservoirs. Results are given Eor Nu Name
reservoirs 2 and 4. Concentrations in the No Name reservoirs are similar to the
values measured at the surface water sites.
Several analyses of constituents for [he Yampa (S7) and Williams Fork Rivers
~' X510) are presented in Table 4.8-8. TDS of these two major streams does not
fluctuate over as large a range as the Trapper Mine ephemeral drainages.
•
4-218
REVISED FFA 2 ~ 'R7
