It formed <br />in arkosic alluvium and residuum. Typically, the <br />surface layer is sandy loam about 5 inches thick. The <br />subsoil is sandy clay loam about 31 inches thick. The <br />substratum is loamy coarse sand. Permeability is <br />moderate and available water capacity is moderate. <br />Effective rooting depth is 60 inches or more. Runoff <br />is slow and the hazard of water erosion is slight. The <br />hazard of soil blowing is moderate. The main <br />limitation of this soil is the susceptibility to soil <br />blowing. <br />Truckton-Bresser complex, 5 to 20 percent slopes <br />This map unit is on uplands. It is about 45 percent <br />Truckton and 35 percent Bresser. This map unit is on <br />uplands. It is about SS percent Truckton and 30 <br />percent Bresser. The Truckton loamy sand is deep and <br />well drained. It formed in alluvium and residuum <br />derived from arkosic sedimentary rock. Typically, the <br />surface layer is loamy sand about 8 inches thick. Tlie <br />subsoil is sandy loam about 18 inches thick. The <br />substratum is coarse sandy loam. Permeability is <br />moderately rapid and available water capacity is <br />moderate. Effective rooting depth is 60 inches or <br />more.
