4
Road. The existing home in that area also appears to be protected with that set
back.
The setback, as determined from borehole #4 and #i3, for the northwestern border
is 31'. It appears that only fences are located in that area on the adjacent sites.
Therefore limited consideration is deemed appropriate. Exhibit 20 shows that this
setback is currently 30'. This setback should be changed to 35'.
The setback, as determined from borehole #4 and #9, for the western border on the
northern end is 35'. It appears that only fences are located in that area on the
adjacent site. Therefore limited consideration is deemed appropriate. Exhibit 20
shows that this setback is currently 50'.
The setback, as determined from borehole #3 and #10, for the border adjacent to
the 12" water main and sanitary sewer main is 60'. These public utilities should be
given additional consideration. Exhibit 22 shows that this setback is currently 75'
for the sewer line. This setback includes the berm slope and is adequate. The
setback between the 12" water main and the limit of excavation is somewhat less
than 75'. This setback which includes the berm slope and appears to be adequate.
The setback, as determined from boreholes #1, #2, #6 and #7, for the border
adjacent to the sanitary sewer main between extraction area B and C is 40'. Exhibit
22 shows that this setback is currently 75' for the sewer line -including the berm.
This setback is more than adequate.
The remaining setbacks on the southern half of the project are at least 30' and
appear to be satisfactory as based on boreholes #1, #2, #6 and #7 (Exhibit 22 and
23).
Discussion of Soil•Properties
A. General Site Characteristics
1. Soil Classifications: The overburden soil located over the river cobble that
is proposed to be mined is a silty clay with an ASTM classification of "CL".
The typical properties for this sample are as follows:
LL=40
PL=20
PI = 20
Passing 200 -sieve =more than 90%
Cohesion: 500 psf with moderate moisture content
Density: 110 pcf with moderate moisture content
