MCC is unsure as to whom to send the reports to.
During the 4a' quarter 2005, MCC experienced a "thermal event" underground that precluded pumping
from the 017 minewater dischazge point from October 27, 2005, through December 31, 2005. The lower
flows from the discharge point 017 aze reflected in this report. All other surface water discharge points
reported were not affected as they received stormwater-runoff (004, 008) or domestic sewage (007) only.
If you have questions or need additional information concerning these reports, please contact me at (970)
929-2238. Also, if you know who to send these reports to in the future please let me know.
Thanking you in advance,
C~-~~~,
eery Barbe
Environmental Engineer
Enclosures: West Elk Discharge Monitoring Reports for 4~' Quarter 2005, Results of Acute
Biomonitoring Tests Conducted for Mountain Coal Company on the West Elk Mine Site -The SeaCrest
Group -October 25, 2005
MOUNTAIN COAL
'" ~COMPANy~~~
cc: Tom Kaldenbach - CDMG-OMLR
P.
