STORMWATER DISCRARGES ASSOCIA7~D WLTH MINING OPERATIONS (cont.) <br />3. Inactive mine sites where, in con;tormance with the Voltuuary Cleanup and Redevelopment Act, (CRS 25-16- <br />303), mine-waste remediation projects are undenaken. /n this t:ase, the SWMP would 6e prepared, relying in <br />pan ors irrfonrtation contained in the Voluntary Cleanup Plan. Once the Volumary Cleanup Plan is approved <br />by the Hazanious Materials and Waste Managemem Division, the owner, or third party with permission of the <br />owner, would submit the completed permit application. After the permit cenijicotion is issued, stormwarer <br />discharges from the remediarion ,orojecr would be authorized. Cemjicarion under this permit would be <br />terminated when the tomirtation criteria and other conditions listed at Pan I.F of the permit are met. <br />C. Tomes of Activities NOT Covered <br />This permit does not authorize stormw,:ter discharges from other types of regulated industrial activities. Ocher <br />types of regulated industrial activities that require stonnwater discharge permits pursuant ro different sections of the <br />regulations [5 CCR 1002-2 Section 6.4.2(5)(b)(I-ii,iv-xi)] are covered under separate general permits. <br />This permit also does not authorize then discharge of process water or mine drainage. Applications for process <br />water or mine drainage discharge permits can 6e obtained from the Permits and Enforcement Section of the Water <br />Quality Control Division at the address listed in Pan I.A.3 of the permit. Coverage for stormwater discharges from coal mines with discharge sources which are <br />authorized under individual CDPS permits, is provided by this permit, Colorado General Stormwater <br />Discharge Permit number COR-040000. <br />(3) Srormwater discharges from oil and gas euraaion (including oil-shale operations) are covered under <br />the Colorado Geneml ,Stormwater Discharge Permit for Light Industry, number COR-010000. <br />(4) Stormwater discharges from active and inactive sand, gravel and other non-metallic quarrying and <br />mining operations are covered under Colorado General Stormwater Discharge Permit number COG- <br />500000. <br />(5) Stonnwater discharges from inactive metal and coal mines are covered under this permit, Colorado <br />General Stonnwater Discharge Permit number COR-040000. <br />(6) Stormwater discharges from mine-waste remediarion operations are covered under this permit, <br />Colorado General Stormwater Discharge Permit number COR-040000. <br />
