CO 80203
Dear Gregg:
Subject: Quarterly sediment pond inspections for Trapper Mine.
I've attached the second quarter inspection reports for 1988. They report the
status of the sediment ponds as per your requirements.
As shown, there are no major problems. Spring runoff season passed without inci-
dent. The drought has lowered all water levels and discharge rates. Drainage
reconstruction techniques have eliminated the need for sediment cleaning this
year in all sediment control ponds except for Coyote Dam. Coyote Dam will be
partially cleaned of sediment by October 30, 1988.
At No-Name ~5, the repairs were completed. The diversion ditch was rebuilt and
seeded. If necessary, more seeding will be done this fall.
For West Buzzard ~3 dam: 1) the dam face was repaired and seeded, 2) the spillway
outfall has been repaired, and 3) minor Parshall Flume repairs are scheduled
prior to fall.
The Coyote Dam staff gauge will be replaced prior to fall. The old gauge how-
ever, is functional.
The 1987 ponds haven't established a good vegetation cover due to extremely dry
weather, but are not showing any erosion problems. The structures will be seeded
again if adequate cover is not established by fall.
Gregg, if you have any questions or require further information, please contact
me.
Sincerely,
~~
H.
