•
•

indicate a narrow, probably shallow zone of soils will exist at the toe with shallow
bedrock on the side slopes, then k may be possible to plan to remove all soils below
the toe (and up the valley sides a specified distance). Observation of the excavation
with shallow test pits during construction could confirm adequate conditions. For
fills in milder sloping areas where deeper colluvial soils are anticipated, test borings
or pits prior to construction are recommended to evaluate soil conditions.
The scope of investigation and design should evolve as investigations are
completed. Confirmation of reduced scope investigations by the CDMG will need to
be negotiated. The use of the stability analysis from this investigation along with
compiled engineering properties from site specific investigations should allow for
more efficient investigation/design procedures.
LIMRATIONS
The analyses and conclusions presented in this report are preliminary and
based on the conditions described in the report. Additional site specific
investigations and quarterly inspections as discussed in the report will be required.
We believe this study was performed using methods and procedures consistent with
other professionals practicing geotechnical engineering in this area at this time.
