In this quarter, no
discharges occurred at Points 005, 009 and 014. Intermittent
flows were observed at Points 002, 010, 011, 012 and 015.-Point
013 has not been constructed yet. Construction of Pond 014 was
completed in September 2001, no discharge has occurred yet.
Construction of Pond 017 was completed in November 2002. Due to a
lack of a safe access road and deep winter snow, this site was
not visited this quarter. No mine related disturbance has
occurred in the Pond 017 drainage basin yet. This site will be
visited in May, once the snow melts off. A better access road
will be built to this pond this summer.
Vehicle access to Points 004, 008, 009, 015 and 016 was closed in
mid-November due to snow. Monthly visits were performed by
snowmobile or snowshoe, except to Pond .015. Snow pack was not
solid enough to run a snowmobile on this steep narrow road until
March. Due to the low water level in this pond noted last
quarter, no flow was likely in January or February.
No excursions of effluent limits occurred this _quarter.
