of the new bathhouse facility. The parking azea was surfaced originally with taz-sand material, but this material has
been overlaid with asphalt, and drainage will be conveyed via the existing system,
• The original building is of concrete block construction and has dimensions of approximately 200 x 75 feet.
Approximate height of the building is 15 feet. The building was placed on a reinforced spread-footer foundation
and has a reinforced concrete slab floor. In 2003, under MROl-173, aten-foot expansion to the south was
constructed for the bathhouse area only, providing an additional 1,000 squaze feet of locker room for the workforce.
The extension design and structure matched the existing building. The extension required construction of piers,
footings and walls, and a concrete slab. The extension itself is constructed with wood framing, insulation, and
metal exterior sheathing and roof.
A mine wazehouse and maintenance shop facility underwent a change in use and now houses a general meeting
area and office space for mine personnel. TCC utilizes the former CYCC shop/wazehouse complex to work on
equipment and store and dispense materials. TCC also utilizes a shop azea northeast of the Office Building, which
was previously used by CYCC as the Preventive Maintenance Bay. Uses of the shop area include construction,
maintenance, and storage of materials, equipment, and various supplies. Access to the 2.5-acre shop facility is
designated on Map 24, Surface Facilities.
The parking azea east of the above-referenced building is being improved to allow better utilization of the azea.
The improvements required hauling in approximately 2,500 CY of spoil material to fill in the existing pazking azea
and raise it so that runoff drains to both the north and south from this azea. Drainage from this azea is directed into
ditches D-2, G-4, and D-6 (a and b). Design information for these ditches is contained in Exhibit 8.
A small building has been constructed on the east side of the portal entry. The 10 x 12 x 8 foot building houses the
portal slope heating system.
2005 Bathhouse Addition (MROS-1951
• An expansion to meet future coal production requnrements for the mine will require approximately 100 new
employees. As a result, an addition to the existing bathhouse facility is required. The addition will be constructed
on the south side of the existing bathhouse facility, connecting to the existing bathhouse. The addition will be
located on a portion of a previously compacted asphalt-coated pazking lot. Existing water and sewer systems will
be utilized for the new facility. Roof water will be segregated and rerouted to an existing pump-line at the portal
leading to the Area 1 Pit. This water is eventually utilized for underground dust control and at the wash-plant.
Existing surface drainage structwes in the area of the addition will remain in place.
The perimeter for the addition will be excavated to a depth of four feet for placement of a concrete foundation. The
center portion will be excavated to approximately two feet, evaluated for compaction and backfilled. Additional
engineered-fill material will be imported to the site, as required. (See construction design or as-builts for greater
detail). Foundation work will require construction of piers, footings, walls and a concrete slab. Building
construction will consist of an all-metal steel post-and-azch system, with sheet-metal sheathing and internal
insulation. The addition will add approximately 2,886 square feet to the existing bathhouse with approximate
dimensions of 31 x 98 feet. The design and structure of the addition match the existing building.
The topsoil stockpile originally designated for reclamation of the pazking lot and building area (Stockpile SF-3, as
shown on Map 29) will be used to cover the new portion of the bathhouse during reclamation as specified on page
2.05-101.
Warehouse Expansion (MR07-217)
In order to accommodate increased material storage requirements associated with mine expansion and the new
• Washplant facility, the existing mine Wazehouse facility was expanded to include two additions; a 3,950 square
foot (158 x 25 foot) enclosed extension of the current pallet-rack storage area, and the addition of a 1,520 squaze
MR07-217 2.05-18 07/16/07
