• INTRODUCTION
Tab 6 contains the Geologic Information for the entire Nucla
Mine Complex, including Nucla East (Mining Areas 1 through 5 as
shown on Exhibit 12-1, Operations Plan and Nucla East as shown on
Exhibit 6-7, Geologic Cross Section and Sample Locations). The
Physiography, Regional Geology (Structure and Stratigraphy) and
Site Specific Geology (Drill Hole Information, Structure,
Stratigraphy, Mineralogy and Coal Seam Analysis) sections for Nucla
Mine were initially submitted in 1980 and approved under SMP No.
C-008-81. This existing information package was also submitted and
approved for the Nucla Permit Revision No. 1. However, additional
overburden assessment information was required by CMLRD for the
scraper pit area (Mining Areas 2 and 3). This supplemental
information was integrated with the existing information collected,
submitted, and approved under SMP No. C-008-81. Lithologic
descriptions and results of laboratory analyses for the 1986 Phase
• II drill holes are included in Appendices 6-1 and 6-4,
respectively. Lastly, text pages 6-9, 6-10 and 6-17 were amended
to incorporate the supplemental drill hole data (for holes 695E,
691E and 775E) submitted on October 30, 1981.
The Geology and Overburden Assessment information for Nucla East
are contained in Tab 6, Attachment 6-1. The overburden and
interburden handling techniques, mitigative measures, and spoil
sampling plan for tfie entire Nucla Mine Complex, including Nucla
East, are contained in Tab 21, Minesoil Reconstruction.
•
viii Revised 04/11/88
