Draglines,
bulldozers, and scrapers may be used to extract the material and transport it to the processing azea.
Conveyers may be used to transport the material to the processing azea depending on topography.
WETLAND IMPACTS (Drawing 2)
Area One The disturbance in Area One has been divided into two phases (Drawing 3). Phase one
included the filling of2.8 acres of wetlands for the processing plant. Authorized under Nationwide 26.
Phase two includes the filling of an additiona14.5 acres of wetland. The phase two activity will be
included in this permit application. The total disturbance to Area One will be 7.2 acres (Table 1).
Area Two This area will be the first to be mined. The disturbance will include the dredging and
excavation of 3.40 acres of wetland for aggregate recovery (Table 1, Drawing 4). After mining is
complete, the excavated azea will be filled with fine particulates from the processing plant, to ultimately
become the mitigation site.
Area Three The disturbance in Area Three will include the dredging and excavation of 6.0 acres of
wetland for aggregate recovery with some disturbance for ditch realignment and slurry wall construction
(Table 1, Drawing 5).
