Ground water quality in [he low sections of Foidel and Middle Creeks, near [heu confluence, is of calcium
• bicarbonate sulfate type. Electric conductivity ranges from 1010 (well 008-AV-2) to 2120 umhos (well 008-AV-I )
and pH concentration range from 7.3 to 8.2 units.
Presently, Foidel and Middle Creeks' alluvial ground water is not utilized within the permit boundary due to the
relatively poor water.
(51 Permit applications may comply with the requirements of 2.04.7(4)(c) and 2.04J(2)(a) & (b)
reeardin¢ the seasonal variability of surface and Groundwater quality and quantity without the collection of data
coverine l2 consecutive months if accurate statistical procedures, approved by the Division, are used to extrapolate
from a data base covering a shorter period of time.
RESPONSE
The information presented and referenced in this permit revision application regarding seasonal variations of water
quality and quantity represents over five years of intensive hydrologic data collection in the permit and adjacent
areas. The data was collected as part of cooperative and complementary monitoring programs conducted by the US
Geological Survey, the USDA Agricultural Research Service (formerly Science and Education Administration),
personnel of the applicant, affiliates of the applicant, independent studies by universities, Federal, and State
agencies.
