Evans, Esq
Evans and Briggs
Mining Exchange Building
Suite 222
8 Souih Nevada
6oiorado Springs, Colorado 80903
RE: Spyder and Pikeview Quarries, Ei Paso County.
File Nos: 77-210 and 77-211 respectively.
Dear Mr. Evans:
Jim Schmiading referred to me your Inquiry about your August
1978, submission possibly satisfying, Tn part, the adequacy
letters of April 12, 1979. After reviewing the August materials
and the Aprii letters, 1 beltiveathere are some materials that
are applicable to response Lo the recent adequacy letters.
1 sense a rather cumbersome probidm ie developing on these ap-
plications. It may well 6a that so much material is accumu-
lating In a proclamed fashion that it is becoming difficult if
not impossible to tell what the plan actually is saying. There
Is a very real danger to the properness of a permit tihen this ha
happens..
As I am leaving the agency affective hey 31, 1979, 1 suggest
the best approach would be to have a rather long meeting with
tllm Sehmieding and whoever else works on these appllcatlons
to sort out the pertinent materials from the extraneous, re-
dundant, and Irrelevant materials. in a word, t believe the
bast approach now would be to fit all the pieces together into
a basically new package. Then 1 am sure the application can
be processed and permitted in short order.
I have anJoyed my association with Castle Concrete on these ap-
pllcatlons. 1 am sure decent plans can be developed in the near
future.,and only hope everybody keeps in mind the tremendous
difficulty In raklafiihing these sites. I am sure the Quarries
