M-97-084/3rd Adequacy
11/18/97
page 3
With submittal and approval of the details above, a more exact reclamation cost figure may be
calculated. At present, beginning with figures from our past discussion, we can probably
approximate the bond. Fora 1.6-acre site, and the costs agreed to in our last letter, plus the fence
cost above, we may have a bond near $1300.00.
Application Approval
You have provided almost all of the materials and details necessary. Approval of the application
must wait, however, until the details required above have been submitted and approved. If you
must have approval sooner than that, I can approve the application now, but with conditions. The
conditions would require that an adequate plan for control of runoff and debris be submitted, that
an appropriate reclamation plan be provided, and that the applicant provide the correct bond
amount. Approval maybe made either way, but the permit will not be issued until these items are
addressed (and mining may not commence until permit issuance).
Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns. You should also refer to Rule 6.3
for complete discussion of the adequacy of exhibits. If you need a specific form for providing any
certain type of bond, let me know and I can mail one to you.
