Copies are attached. Below is the text on
the WET testing from our Apri126, 2002 DMR cover letter. Note that the April 26 letter erroneously reported an initial WET test
acute toxicity in January 2002. This has been corrected below to February 2002.
A Quarterly Whole Effluent Toxicity (WET) test was conducted for Outfall 001 in February 2002. This test indicated that the
effluent was acutely toxic to Daphnia magna survival. Accelerated WET testing was subsequently conducted in February and
March. Two consecutive accelerated tests were determined to be acutely toxic to Daphnia magna survival. As a result, PTI
testing will be performed within the second quarter of 2002. Note that the preprinted DMR indicates acomposite-3 sample
type, however this acute WET test only requires a single grab sample.
A Quarterly Whole Effluent Toxicity (WET) test was conducted in February, 2002 for Outfall 005. This test indicated that the
effluent was not acutely toxic to Daphnia magna survival, therefore Outfall 005 is in compliance. Note that the preprinted DMR
indicates acomposite-3 sample type, however this acute WET test only requires a single grab sample.
I apologize for the oversight. Please contact me directly at (970) 870-2750 for any questions.
Brian A.
