(LPEA) has raised some concerns regarding possible
darnage to their pe~•:er !ales and injury rn euuiomen[ operators in [he event of contact
between equipment and overhead line, at the proposed AGRI-DLD Gravel Pit site.
In response, AGRI-DLD, LLC has taken the following steps to address each of LPEA's
concerns. I) Engaged Western Land Surveys, Inc. to determine the height of the power
line at the point where the road will pass under the line (exhibit A -attached), and
determine the exact location of the road as it passes under the power line (exhibit B -
attached). 2) Determined the grade of the road as it passes under the power line. 3)
Measured the exact height of any equipment that will pass under the power line,
including a dump bed in the up position.
In order to protect both the overhead power line and the underground pipelines, AGRI-
DLD had previously created a "no mining" zone 9o feet to the north and 100 feet to the
south of the utility easements (see "Pre-mining and A9ining Plan). During constmction of
the road as it passes under the power lines, gravel will be laid with a belly dump, not a
dump truck No mining activities other than passage of equipment will occur within [he
no mining zone, once the road is constructed
The road will be located at a point under the power line, which will allow for between 54
and 45 feet of clearance between the road surface and the power lines The centerline of
the road will be 25 feet east of the existing power pole. The maximum height of [ite
dump be in the raised position is 20 feet, giving a clearance of 25-34 feet between the
equipment and the power lines.
If this meets the National Electric Safety Code, Rural Utilities Service, and LPEA safety
requirements (as determined by LPEA), no raising of the line will be necessary. If
raising of the existing lines is required, AGRI-DLD, LLC will engage a qualified firm to
raise the lines. AGRI-DLD, LLC will install LPEA mandated mad signs to the north and
south of the power line, and have orange marking balls installed which meet LPEA's
specifications, if these requirements are still deemed necessary, in light of the current
height of the lines in the area of the proposed roadway.
d.b.a.
