<br />EXHIBIT "C" <br />MINING PLAN <br />(a) Mining is proposed to start immediately after permit issuance and will continue as long as <br />material is available in commercial quantities. <br />(b) Topsoil -soil suitable as plant growth medium. <br />The pit floor where mining will take place is Bankazd sandy bottomland, which is sand only and has <br />no overburden or topsoil. The Kim and Travesilla which make up the pit banks, have topsoil ranging <br />from 6" to 12". The pit banks will be backsloped at 3H:1 V and the topsoil will be replaced at 6" to <br />12". <br />(c) Thickness of overburden or quantity of waste rock. <br />There is no overburden or waste rock in the Bankard series. Overburden on the pit banks can range <br />up to 3', and Wray be used in backsloping. There is no waste rock in this sand pit. <br />(d) Thickness of deposit to be mined. <br />The Bankard sand will be mined to a depth of 4' - 5', which will be above any groundwater. The <br />material is replaced by high water in the Arikaree River. <br />(e) Major components of the mining operation. <br />1. Access is east from County Road 109 onto Lincoln County's gravel pit road and then onto the <br />ranch road of the owner. <br />2. Material will be excavated by front-end loader into small stockpiles, which will then be loaded <br />onto haul trucks for transport to an industrial yard in Limon. No crushing or screening equipment <br />will be used on this site. <br />3. No permanent office, shop or maintenance buildings aze present or proposed. <br />4. There aze no underground openings such as adits or ventilation facilities, since this is an open-pit <br />operation. The existing road is the only one of the listed items to be shown on the map. <br />C-1 <br />
