The permit application is complex and <br />requires much study. Please_exterid itie pubic comment period for an additional 70 days and schedule a <br />public hearirig on the permit.- It is imperative-that this hearing be held in Pueblo; iri the evening, so that the <br />public may attend. - -'_` ` ~` _ <br />The areas that need jo be addressed at the public hearing are the inadequacy of the plan to <br />restore the area to use as rangeland based on the amounts of water aril seed specified, in relation to the <br />climatic conditions of the area; <br />-the monitoring requirements for reclaimed areas are unspecific and insufficient, and do not <br />adequately protect the public from continued blowing dust -which will occur indefinitely, <br />according to the plan; _~ _ _ - - <br />-time limits described are not specific, anii terms such as °cornpleflon° are inadequately defined; <br />-the plan is vague throughout - it basically tale to outline in detail a specific plan <br />-imorrnation al mineral rights is missng; <br />-there is no evidence of how the hydrologic balance of the affected land and the surrounding area <br />will bepreserved; . _ _ --. - =- - ~ - - -- -~ ' ~_~-=~: ~-.- - <br />-no real historical or archaeological survey has been done to determine whether important cultural <br />areas will bedestroyed by mining <br />-there is no evidence of how piles of removed soli will be prevented from btowirg. _ <br />I have many otherconoerne: -Much more opportuntty-for study artd public commerit, maJor- -- <br />revision, and acharxe to get answers to questtons, is necessary before this Redamatlm Pian can <br />be considered worthy of use on our beautiful landscape in Pueblo County., _ - <br />Please send nre a notice of the public hearing when it is scheduled.
