Doc Date:12/11/2001 <br />sss <br />sly (~SEC~J oN 2, o s ~ P~ , ~ ~~ <br />FUTURE TOPSOIL STRIPPING FROM REFUSE AREA <br />Due to the lack of appreciable quantities of topsoil on the site, all <br />A, B. and C horizon material will be stripped and stockpiled together. <br />All topsoil material will be stored in the planned stockpile #2 near the <br />substation pad area. <br />Topsoil Removal Estimates <br />From samples 1, 2 and 3 of Soil Test I, it appears that a significant <br />thickness of subsoil material exists in the immediate area of the <br />existing minor drainage. Sample 1 reports a thickness of 60 inches <br />for the three horizons. Short distances away from the drainage show <br />considerably less soil. <br />Overall, the additional area to be disturbed has been divided into 2 <br />distinct areas: 1) the immediate area of the existing drainage <br />channel and 2)_ the remainder of the hillsides to be covered by refuse. <br />Both areas are shown on the map. <br />Drainage Channel Area <br />Average topsoil thickness (all 3 horizons) = 48.7 inches <br />Average strippable thickness = 43.0 inches <br />Drainage channel area (shown on map) _ .09 acres <br />• <br />454 <br /> <br />
