Doc Date:12/11/2001
sss
sly (~SEC~J oN 2, o s ~ P~ , ~ ~~
FUTURE TOPSOIL STRIPPING FROM REFUSE AREA
Due to the lack of appreciable quantities of topsoil on the site, all
A, B. and C horizon material will be stripped and stockpiled together.
All topsoil material will be stored in the planned stockpile #2 near the
substation pad area.
Topsoil Removal Estimates
From samples 1, 2 and 3 of Soil Test I, it appears that a significant
thickness of subsoil material exists in the immediate area of the
existing minor drainage. Sample 1 reports a thickness of 60 inches
for the three horizons. Short distances away from the drainage show
considerably less soil.
Overall, the additional area to be disturbed has been divided into 2
distinct areas: 1) the immediate area of the existing drainage
channel and 2)_ the remainder of the hillsides to be covered by refuse.
Both areas are shown on the map.
Drainage Channel Area
Average topsoil thickness (all 3 horizons) = 48.7 inches
Average strippable thickness = 43.0 inches
Drainage channel area (shown on map) _ .09 acres
•
454
