Briefly describe the process steps used in producing the product. Include <br />a process flow diagram and a discussion of chemicals used at the site and <br />their final disposition. State the final disposal of all wastewater <br />streams. <br />The site is currently inactive, as the nearby mine is shut down. The <br />permittee wishes to peep the permit in case active mining is done in the <br />area in the future. <br />Coal from the company's mines is stockpiled on site and then loaded into <br />rail cars via a coal tipple (a loading binl. When active, the loadout will <br />include crushing facilities. No chemicals are used at the site. <br />IJasteiater is from three sources: wastewater from cleaning the coal tipple <br />(est. maw. 300 gpd), spoil spring ~.ater (est. max. 12,900 gpd) and surface <br />runoff (est. max. 462,700 gpd, from a 10-year 24-hour precipitation <br />event). The coal tipple is rinsed out on a daily basis. A'o chemicals are <br />used in the cleaning. <br />6. What containment does the permittee have for materials used, processed or <br />stored an site? <br />None - while facility is inactive, no materials are used on site. lJhen <br />active, fuel tanks will be brought in and containment provided. At the <br />moment, no containment is present. <br />Are additional controls necessary? <br />No. <br />Is the Materials Containment Plan adequate? <br />Yes. <br />
