increased in 2003 to similar values observed in the mid 1990's. These higher oonoentrations
in well GE-1 could be due to upgradient QR mining, but also is within natural fluctuations.
Figure B-3 also presenrts a group of four QR weds. Well GFll is an equivalent QR
aquifer well in the backfill. The 2003 TDS concentrations dedined indicating that the overall
increasing trend in TDS in backfill well GFii may have reached its peak in 2001 and 2002.
Concentrations in the QR aquifer are monitored downgradient at well GF-6 and have shown
no influence from the upgradient mining, except for a very slight overall increasing trend.
These small changes are well within natural variations. Fgure &3 also presents the TDS
concentrations for QR wells GP-5 and GP-6. Well GP-6 is upgradient of well GP-5, and, as
expected, contains a slightly lower TDS than downgradient well GP-5. These two wells have
also demonstrated a similar overall slight increasing trend over portions of their historical
records which are likely natural.
Fgure B-4 presents the TDS concentrations for four KLM aquifer wells. Well GF3
is shown w'~tl- blue dots and TDS values indicate no trend in TDS in the last three years
after three years of an overall increasing trend. This change in TDS is well within the
natural fluctuation in TDS in the K!1"I aquifer. The data for well GP~i is presented in green
on Rgure B-4 with some variations but overall similar values for the last several years. TDS
concentrations for two of the eastern IQ.M wells, GP-2 and GP-8, are also shown on this
figure with mncentxations generally between 700 and 800 mg/I. Overall steady values have
been observed in these two wells for the last few years.
Figures &5 and B-6 present the TDS concentrations versus time for the HI aquifer
wells. The overall TDS concentretions in HI well G&5 have been low and steady for several
years. A small declining trend has been observed in the TDS in well GE-2 the last two .
3-2
