• 5.0 SURFACE-WATER QUALITY
Samples were collected from active sites 001, 002, 011, 020, OZS and S-1 during
2003. Analytical results for these surface water samples are presented in Table C-1 (page
C-25). The more frequently measured parameters are presented with the first series of
values with the less frequent measured parameters being in two separate groups after the
first group of parameters in Table C-1. NPDFS sites 003, 005, 006, 008, 009, 010, 012,
013, 014, 015, 016, 017, 018, 019 and 023 had no discharge during 2003 and, therefore,
no data are presented.
5.1 TSS
r=fgurns C-5, C-7, G9, C-il and G33 pn~ent plots of total suspended sol+ds (75S)
versus time for the sites 001, 002, 011, 020, 021 and S-1, respectivety. The 2003 TSS
values are similar to those previously observed from sites NPDFS 001 and NPDES 002.
Figure C-9 shows small TSS values for site 011 in 2003. Smatl T55 concentrations for site
020 were measured in 2003 due to limited flow. No TSS values were measured from the
very limited amount of flow from NPDFS site 021 in 2003. S-1 TSS value was small in 2003.
Plots of flow versus TSS for the same sites are presented in Figures C-6, C-8, C-10, C-12
and C-14. As expected, a general inaease in TSS for an increase in flow is seen in these
plots for the historical data from these saes with the 2003 data plotting within the historical
renge.
5-1
