Groundwater Points of Compliance Report
As we had discussed previously, I am requesting your assistance in the review of a
hydrology report submitted by Bowie Resources LLC (BRL) in support of their
contention that the Bowie No. 2 Mine should receive a variance from the requirement for
down gradient groundwater point of compliance monitoring wells. Copies of the report
and cover letter are attached.
The May 2007 report was prepared by R Squazed Incorporated and concludes with a
request that BRL receive "a variance from installing groundwater monitoring compliance
wells in excess of 300 feet." I don't know if this request applies to only down gradient
groundwater point of compliance wells deeper than 300 feet or to all groundwater
monitoring wells deeper than 300 feet.
There is no formal decision due date for this review but the end of August would be a
good target date. If you need additional information or time, please let me know. Thanks
for your assistance.
