PART I <br />Page la of 19 <br />Permit No. CO-0042161 <br />A. TERMS AND CONDITIONS <br />1. Effluent Limitations - Discharge Point 001 <br />Beginning immediately and lasting through June 30, 1994, the permittee <br />is authorized to discharge within the limitations specified below, <br />from outfall serial number 001, the outfall from the final mine water <br />settling pond, as shown in Figure 2. <br />In accordance with the Water Quality Control Commission Regulations <br />for Effluent Limitations, Section 10.1.3, and State Discharge Permit <br />System Regulations, Section 6.9.2, 5 C.C.R. 1002-2, the permitted <br />discharge shall not contain effluent parameter concentrations which <br />exceed the following limitations, discharge more than the mass <br />pollutant loadings specified below or exceed the specified flow <br />limitation. <br />Parameter 30-day avg. a/ Daily Max. c/ <br />F7 ow, MGD Report NA <br />Total Suspended Solids, mg/1 35 70 <br />Total Recoverable Iron, mg/1 0.066 NA • <br />Total Dissolved Solids, mg11 NA Report <br />Dissolved Aluminum, mg/1 NA Report <br />Whole Effluent Toxicity, Acute NA Report <br />Whole Effluent Toxicity, Chronic NA Report <br /> pH (standard units) shall remai n between 6.5 and 9.0 c/. <br /> 011 and grease shall not exceed 10 mg/1 c/ in any grab sample nor <br /> shall there be a visible sheen f/. <br /> There shall be no discharge of floating solids. <br />2. Flocculants <br />This permit allows the use of Nalco Enact 7883, an aluminum sulfate <br />compound, for wastewater treatment at 001, providing that it is not <br />applied in toxic amounts. However, if the permittee plans to use any <br />other chemical treatment, including other flocculants, such use would <br />fall under the Change in Discharge provision (ParC II.A.1 of the <br />permit), and will necessitate Division notification and approval.
