The major equipment to be utilized at the Peacock Coal Mine is set forth
• in Table 6, Equipment List.
The average height of the A Coal Seam is approximately six (6) feet.
Ventilation. The objective of mine ventilation will be to provide an
adequate supply of uncontaminated air to the working areas. The volume
and velocity of this air will be sufficient to dilute, render harmless
or carry away, flammable, explosive and harmful gases, as well as dust,
smoke, and explosive fumes.
The projected mine air courses have been designed to provide a volume of
air necessary to meet these objectives.
On one side of the main entries there will be two intake air courses.
The entry irtonediately to the left of the intake entries will be a
haulage entry; it will also be used as an intake course. To the left of
• the haulage entry will be the belt line entry, which will be isolated
from intake and return air flows with ventilation stoppings.
The belt line entry will be a neutral air course. At the extreme left of
the entry system will be two return air courses.
During panel development, only a limited number of panel entries will be
used to provide ventilation to the development phase. A three entry
system will have only one intake to the right, one neutral air course in
the middle, and one return to the left. The intake air course will also
function as a haulage entry.

2.05-6
