• No travel of unauthorized vehicles will be allowed on anything other
than established roads. Employee and mine vehicles and other haulage
equipment will be restricted only to the haul and access roads.
Crushing, Handling and Loadout Facilities. The coal from the Peacock
Coal Mine will be transported from the mine via a conveyor. A conveyor
will discharge the coal into a crusher which will reduce the coal to an
approximate 2" x 0" size. Once crushed, the coal will be fed onto
another conveyor belt and discharged into a coal stockpile. The coal
from the stockpile will be loaded into highway trucks for transport to
market. The coal handling, crushing and Loadout diagram for the Peacock
Coal Mine is shown on the Drainage and Sediment Control Plan Map (Map
6).
Coal dust from th.e existing coal crushing and Loadout facilities along
Hay Gulch has not been a problem because of infrequency of strong winds
in the vicinity of the Sunbelt operation. If coal dust becomes a
• problem at the planned storage piles, the water truck from the mine will
be available for suppression. No thermal dryers are to be used at the
facilities.
Disturbance. Because Sunbelt will be mining coal from an underground
operation, the area of land affected for surface operations and
facilities within the permit area will be minimal.
Reclamation of the surface operations and facilities within the permit
area will commence as contemporaneously as possible after mining
operation is completed. The mine water truck will be available to keep
any dusty conditions under control. Strong or excessive winds are not
commonplace in the vicinity of the Sunbelt operation; therefore,
planning of any special windbreak vegetation will not be undertaken.
Blasting. Because Sunbelt is conducting an underground mining
operation, no surface blasting will be undertaken as part of the
• operation.
2.05-40
