O'Brir,n:
In regards to your request for further information pertaining
to the Dotsero Block Inc. Dotserp Quarry, I have the following
comments:
1.) The native existing vegetation on a site should be
considered in the planning process. The trees, shrubs,
and grasses presently groi~ing on the site are often
the most aesthetically desirable and effective
vegetation .for land cover.
I have attached a copy of our guidelines to which parts
or all can be used in your final plan development.
2,) I would estimate that the overall ground cover average
to be 5-10 percent.
3.) As one can tell by the previous copy of soils information
I sent you, depth to bedrock varies from 10 to 20 inches.
Q.) Your proposed seed mixture for re-seeding is fine as far
as the types. I would make the following changes per rates
of PLS~Acre:
Nordan Crested I~hieat~rass 2,5 lbs. PLS~Acre
Slender '.,heatgrass 2.75 " " "
Basin '.Jildrye 2.75 " " "
Blue Orama 1.00 " " "
Rates for the shrub species art, fine.
Please keep in mind that tl.ese rates are for r!rilled rates
and must be doubled if they are to be broadcasted.
I hope that this information is of use to you.
Sincerely,
~~ CCU,,,
Ricilc Olson,
Dis~:rict Conservationist
O ins Soil Canaarvetlon Service
U is an epency of the
Depertmenl of Aprlculturs
SCS-AS-1
10-79
