Emrich, Reclamation Specialist <br />Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Division <br />Colorado Department of Natural Resources <br />423 Centennial Building, 1313 Sherman Street <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br />RE: Annual Embankment Inspection <br />Stipulation 17 to Permit No. C-005-80 <br />Dear Ms. Emrich: <br />Stipulation 17 to Permit No. C-005-80 is as follows: <br />"The embankment must be inspected ann;~ally, or within 10 days following <br />any storm whose backwater elevation exceeds the elevation of 6991.1 feet <br />above sea level (10-year, 24-hour maximum storm event's projected backwater <br />elevation), by a qualified Geotechnical Engineer of Engineerin4 Geologist. <br />A letter of certification containing the results of the inspection must be <br />submitted to the Division within two weeks following the inspection". <br />In accordance with this stipulation, I, fti'. Craig Jennings, Colorado <br />P. E. 17720, have inspected the subject embankment on July 6, 1984 and do <br />herewith submit my report of findings: <br />I. t"hronology <br />:1. July la, 1931: F. The report concluded that the embankment i.as <br />stable with a minimum static safetu I~ctor of 1.52. The <br />report also recommended reregetation and inspections. <br />E. September 23, 1961: Colorado Permit No. C-005-80 became <br />effer_tivc. <br />C. Fa11 19.41: The embankment was hand seeded in compliance <br />with Stipulation 10 of Permit No. C-005-80. <br />D. June 15, 1982: The annual embankment inspection was con- <br />ducted. Lreather conditions were favorable, skies partly <br />cloudy, tempo ra tore about GS°F. A light rain had fallen <br />nn the evening of Jnne 14th. <br />
