LLC; Porco Pit; Permit File No. M-2004-042 <br />Conejos County <br />Deaz Mr. Whinnery, <br />On July 16, 2004, your application for the above captioned permit was considered "filed" for purposes of <br />conducting a technical adequacy review. This filing date marks the beginning of the Division's 30-day <br />terns for issuing a permit decision. This letter constitutes the Division technical adequacy review, and <br />addresses itemsar~issues that need additional information or clarification. <br />Attached to this review is the Division's estimate of the cost for reclaiming this property. Tf you consider <br />any of the information herein to be incorrect, you should address your concerns in writing to the Division. <br />Please note. This is not a permit approval. Until all issues identified herein aze addressed to the <br />Division's satisfaction, and until we have received a bond sufficient to cover reclamation, you may not <br />begin excavation or disturb the property. <br />APPLICATION FORM: <br />Item 1.2. <br />You must famish the Tax ID number or your Social Security Number. <br />Item 3. <br />This item indicates 7 acres aze to be permitted. However, the mining and reclamation maps indicate the <br />mining area is to measure 300' x 300', or slightly more than 2 acres. Please clarify. Permitted acreage <br />should include all areas disturbed by nlilung including, but not limited to, the area from which material <br />will be removed, areas used for topsoil storage, and areas needed to reach the topsoil and overburden <br />during mining and reclamation. If the access road is upgraded or enlarged, it must be part of the permit <br />azea. You should permit the excavation azea plus enough room to store topsoil and overburden, re-grade <br />topsoil and overburden after mining, and store or stage product during mining. Topsoil must be cleared <br />from product storage areas.
