I am submitting the following: <br />1. The joint structures of the andesite are predominantly <br />verticle. The horizonal distance between these joints <br />averages about 2'~ to 3'. (see photo) <br />2. The final quarry face will not be benched. As shown on <br />drawing 677-3, the final slope of the rock face will lay <br />at approimately '~ horizonal to 1 vertical. <br />3. It is our feeling that this slope will be sufficient to <br />preclude an unstable face. The Colorado Division of <br />Highways cuts thru rock embankments are 1. The over- <br />burden section that lays above the rock face will be <br />sloped at 3 horizonal to 1 vertical. <br />~,. <br />L <br />
