B. We will do a 3 to 1 slope during reclamation which has been covered in
several places in this application.
C. We will revegetate the site using the seed mixture, approved by
B.L.M., dry land grass and return it to pasture land. See Formula
included.
1. The topsoil used to resurface and cover the gravel pit is the
same material on our farm meaning with water just about
anything will grow and without water dry land grass will grow
with natural moisture fall.
2. We will disc the land to be revegetated, add fertilizer, seed, and
use a trackdozer to do two things, push down seed into ground
and crimp straw from mulching. We will use a broadcast
spreader for seeding and fertilizing.
3. We will plant Dryland grass mix using formula from B.L.M.
4. Broadcast seeding will be done at a rate twice that required for
seed drilling . The area would then be tracked down with a
dozer.
5. Straw will be spread over area and crimped by going over it
with dozer track.
6. This is open country and no trees are present so we would not
plan to plant any.
D. The only water source would still be the canal. Our work will not
make any changes to the Rio Grand Canal except for the road and
bridge we plan to build and it will be perminant and maintained by
us to connect both sides of our farm property. The recharge pit will
also become a perminant fixture to be used for our farm purposes.
We do not have any plans to build ponds.
E. We will not have any waste rock as we will be mining the rock. The
rock will be 99% smaller than 6" so we will be using it all. We will
slope the land again after finishing and replace top soil and reseed.
We will do no underground mining and we will have no chemical
facilities. The only building will be the office which will remain for
continued farm use during the hay season as described above. We
will reclaim land as we finish each phase of mining.
F. When finished only 2 acres would remain to be reclaimed because we
plan to reclaim the land as we go. This 2 acre area will be reclaimed
when mining has finished. The maximum push distance would be 50'.
1. Backfilling - N/A
Grading - $800.00 per acre for dozer work to reclaim
Topsoil application- 6" to 8" deep over entire sight. Maximum
hauled distance would be 200'. 1064 CU
YDS top soil $1.00 per cu yd,
Seed/fertilizer - $100.00 for 40lbs seed to cover 2 acres.
$50,00 for fertilizer. $200.00 per acre to
