Revised 1/11/80
M Section 816.46(a) Continued
the first year of reclamation. This corresponds to readings 0 to
60 days old, and is also conservative beyond 60 days. Any areas
which were still bare were assigned 1.0. This would correspond to
a freshly disked bare soil, which is conservative for any reclama-
tion practice which tends to decrease sediment yield, such as
contour plowing.
At the Eclanan Park site values of 1.0 and 0.05 only were used,
since in the worst case yeaz of 1960, which was used in the hydro-
logic analysis, there was no first yeaz reclamation. This will
slightly overestimate the sediment volume, as the average 1980
sediment yield multiplied by 3 would be higher than the total of
the actual yields for 1980, 1981 and 1982.
All three values of VM wore used on the other ponds, because sev-
eral stages of reclamation and soil disturbance existed. This
approach is not more or less ~nservative than the Pond A calcula-
tion, as each calculation was performed to reflect, as accurately
as possible, the conditions at each pond.
The year 1980 was selected because the tributary area was the
lazgest in that year, and 1980 had the highest SCS ~rve Number of
the years investigated. The yeazs investigated were the ones which
LRC1~ believed would produce the greatest runoff volume.

Exhibit Sp 816-45(c) 12/13199
