• EXHIBIT "B" • <br />NffNING PLAN <br />• FOREST SERVICE PIT <br />II~DEPII~DENCE PASS <br />1. The pit limits, excavation azea and haul road will be staked by the <br />engineer. <br />2. Small trees, less than 12 inches high, will be removed from the area to be <br />excavated and transplanted in the storage area designated within the pit <br />limits. The lazger poles, 4" in diameter and lazger, of trees removed <br />from the area to be mined, will be saved for spreading over reclaimed <br />areas. Brush, tree tops and limbs will be burned or hauled to the nearest <br />landfill. <br />3. All usable topsoil will be removed from the azea to be excavated and stock- <br />piled for use in reclaiming the pit. The stockpile will be smoothed and <br />seeded if it is not to be used during the present construction season. <br />4. Excavation of material will begin at the easterly pit limits and progress <br />in a westerly direction, excavating the full depth and width of usable <br />material. A separate area will be e~avated each time the pit is used. <br />5. The floor of the pit will be left with a slight uniform slope to the south <br />and without depressions to trap water. Backslopes will be left no steeper <br />than 2:1. <br />• 6. The excavated material will be crushed and stockpiled for processing <br />through an asphalt mixing plant. <br />7. Rocks too large for ca.-ushing will be buried in the final pit slopes. <br />8. The wntractor may use whatever equipment he determines most suitable to <br />mine and process the material. <br />9. The contractor will canply with the Colorado "Air Pollution Control Act of <br />1970" and amendments thereto, Article 7 of Chapter 25 Colorado Revised <br />Statutes, 1973 and all regulations adopted thereunder, as outlined under <br />Section 107 of the Division of Highways Standard Specifications. <br />10. The contractor will canply with the Colorado "Water Control Act" and <br />amendments thereto, Article 8 of Chapter 25, Colorado Revised Statutes 1973, <br />as outlined under Section 107 of the Division of Highways Standard Spec- <br />ifications. <br />11. The contractor will follow all rules and regulations concerning Forest <br />protection as outlined in the Forest Service Special Use Permit and <br />Section 107.13 of the Division of Highways Standard Specifications. <br />12. The contractor will provide and maintain in a neat, sanitary condition <br />such acco~ndations for the use of his employees as may be necessary to <br />cang~ly with the raziir~ients of the State and local Boards of Health or <br />. of other bodies or tribunals having jurisdiction. <br />
