John Eastman • III IIIIIIIIIIIII III • Page 2 of 2
May 31, 2001 y99
is not acceptable, I need to speak with the person in responsible charge (Mr. Moon) and review
information sent directly from him.
As I have explained, mapping is an extremely important aspect of this project. If the mapping is
wrong or has been misinterpreted, the Applicant's study results will have no credibility whatsoever.
Therefore, as you requested, I am putting my request in writing asking for Mr. Moon's survey
information and for a telephone discussion. The information I would like is the following:
1. A hardcopy of the field survey cross-sections, and if available a copy of the digital data in
either AutoCad or ASCII format.
2. Hard copy oftopographic map, and ifavailable a copy ofthe digital data in either AutoCad
or ASCII format.
3. A simple telephone conversation with Mr. Moon to verify locations of spot elevations and
the extent of survey coverage.
The information requested is routinely required by the reviewing agencies, so I am somewhat
surprised Routt County in its review process hasn't requested it from the Applicant. At this late date
it may be impossible to obtain the information, review it and compare it with the information provided
in the Applicant's floodplain delineation study, and then provide a written response to Routt County
before the public meeting scheduled for June 5.
I did request this information more than a week ago and have not received a satisfactory response.
I would think that Routt County would like to insure that an adequate review had been performed
before deciding the issue in a public hearing. The information I have received and reviewed raises
questions regarding the accuracy and extent of the floodplain limits. Although accurate mapping is
only one of the issues, it is a critical one.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Sincerely,
Aquatic nvirorunenta/~~ices, Inc.
Georgerge M~D., P.E", P.L.S.
President
Copy: Loretta Van Norstand
