1" Quarter 2001 DMR
• CO-00045161
April 6, 2001
Colowyo experienced a warming trend from February 19-21, 2001. Until this time, our
sediment control ponds have experienced very little inflow. With the exception of OOIA, no
other discharges had occurred since 2nd quarter 2000. Outfall OOSA last discharged 2'" quarter
1999.
The temperature data exhibited on the following page is gathered at an elevation of 7,200 feet.
The elevation of the three ponds is at 6,200 feet. Roughly the temperature increases
approximately 1 degree Fahrenheit for every 300 feet decrease in elevation. This indicates
that the temperature at the three ponds was 3-4 degrees warmer than at the weather monitoring
station. Precipitation and temperature data from February 20-21 is attached and demonstrates
the increasing temperatures which affected Outfalls OOSA, OOtiA, and OOIA.
Please feel free to contact me at (970) 824-1531 with any concerns or questions you may have.
Respectfully,
yl~'L~ ~C~
Kimberley A.
