IJ~;)t. ~. .:;a:, ,:i :_~~iCpF <br />The following information pertaining to wildlife is provided for <br />use by the Mined Land Reclamation Board in their consideration of <br />a mining permit for Mountain Mobile Mix <br />The Colorado Division of Wildlife does hereby find, to the best of <br />our knowledge, that the impact of the proposed mining operation on <br />wildlife will be <br />x ~ minor <br />moderate <br />major <br />Mine Location: Sec. 11, T6S, R93W, North side of Colorado River <br />approximatelyli miles east of Rifle on Glen Chamber's property. <br />Wildlife Species List: (may be attached) Mule Deer, Canada Geese, <br />Whitetail Jackrabbit, Raccoon, Striped and Spotted Skunk, Great Blue <br />Heron, Mallard, and Dabbling Ducks <br />Endangered Species Impacted: Bald Eagle <br />Assessment of Impact on Wildlife: (may be attached) <br />There are two small existing pits. These will be greatly enlarged and <br />deepened to extract all the gravel. There are not any large trees on <br />this site. The site is presently used as pasture and supports a sparse <br />stand of grass. There are several other gravel pits within the close <br />proximity of this pit. I do not feel that there will be a major impact <br />on wildlife as a result cf t;~is jravel ;.i~. <br />Reclamation Recommendations: (may be attached) <br />1. Slope banks to a 1:3 scope. <br />2. Follow vegetation plans from Soil Conservation Service. <br />3. Leave a 100' berm between Colorado River and south boundary of pil. <br />4. Leave an island in the center of the pit to improve wildlife habitat <br />for waterfowl and improve aesthetic value of the reclaimed pit. <br />5.
