PARTI <br />Page No. 8 <br />Permit No.: CO-0036251 <br />SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS <br />2. Stormwater Requirements <br />a. General Limitations <br />i) Stormwater which mixes with process water or mine drainage is subject to effluent limitation guidelines. <br />ii) Stormwater discharges from acrive or inactive mining operations activities shall not cause or threaten to cause <br />pollution, contamination or degradation of State waters. <br />iii) Bulk storage structures for petroleum products and other chemicals shall have adequate protection so as to contain <br />all spills and prevent any spilled material from entering State waters. <br />b. Stormwater Management Plan -Contents and Requirements <br />A current Stormwater Management Plan (SWMP) shall be maintained for the portions of the ID-7 Mine and ID-9 Mine <br />sites that are covered by this secfion of the permit: The SWMP shall be prepared in accordance with good engineering <br />practices. (The plan need not be completed by a registered engineer.) The plan shall identify potential sources of <br />pollution (including sediment), which may reasonably be expected to affect the quality of stonuwater discharges <br />associated with the mining operation. In addition, the plan shall describe and ensure [he implementation of best <br />management practices (BMPs), which will be used to reduce the pollutants in stornwater discharges associated with <br />mining activity and to assure compliance with the terms and conditions of this permit. <br />Pemuttees must implement the provisions of their SWMP as a condition of this permit. The Division reserves the right to <br />review the plan, and to requue additional measures to prevent and control pollution as needed. <br />SWMPs that were prepared in accordance with requirements in the previous version of the permit need not be amended <br />to conform to the SWMP format in this permit. <br />The SWMP shall include the following items, at a minimum; <br />i) Descriotion of Mining Activities <br />The plan shall provide a narrative description of the mining and associated activities taking place, or having taken <br />place in the past, at the ID-7 Mine and ID-9 Mine sites which affect or may affect Stormwater runoff intended to be <br />covered by this permit. The narrative description shall report the total acreage within the mine site and an estimate <br />of the number of acres of disturbed area. A general description of the location of the mining site relative to major <br />transportation routes and communities shall also be provided. <br />ii) Area Subiect to Effluent Limitations Guidelines <br />The SWMP shall describe the portion of the mining site which contributes nuroff to areas subject to effluent <br />limitations guidelines contained in 40 CFR subchapter N. <br />
