.: ~ _ • iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii~ •
POWDERHORN COAL COMPANY
POND NO. 6 - REFUSE DISPOSAL AREA NO. 1
CERTIFICATION
I, Larry M. Reschke, PE 19691, hereby certify that Pond No. 6
located at Powderhorn Coal Company's Cameo Refuse Disposal Area
No. 1 meets or exceeds the design requirements of plans submitted
to and approved by Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Division in
Appendix X, Volume 3; Exhibit 20, Volume 5; and Appendix WW,
Volume 7 of Powderhorn permit application No. C-81-041. The pond
was installed in 1980 and included a combination primary and
emergency spillway. The pond does not match the proposed
dimensions, but does meet the design volumes. The attached
diagram shows the plan view of the pond below the emergency
spillway and shows the volumes of the pond. These as-built
dimensions were taken from a survey taken October 27, 1988, and
do not reflect sediment accumulated since that time. This
certification is a follow up to work done in November and
December, 1991 to establish separate emergency and primary
spillways. A 6" PVC primary spillway was installed with an 18"
ADS plastic oil skimmer/trash rack at that time.
~E
