Rock cover is low at 4 percent as is <br />crustose lichen cover, 2 percent. <br />Shrub density i 3441 ~dividuals per acre. Dominance is as <br />follows: Utah serviceberry 1,648 plants per acre, mountain <br />mahogany 1,431 plants per acre, snowberry 136 plants per acre, <br />i, 2 <br />I$`!`6 <br />and pinyon pine 26 plants per acre. ~:;~i <br />~3m <br />~4 <br />4.8.10.6 Agricultural 3 y ~a~"~s~"'" <br />Approximately four acres of an old hay field occur near East <br />Salt Creek within the permit area. This vegetation will not <br />be affected by mining disturbances. This vegetation type is <br />• composed of introduced hay grasses, legumes, and invading "weedy <br />type" forbs. <br />4.8.11 Plant Species List <br />A total of 91 species of vascular plants was identified in the <br />study area during the 1980 growing season. These 91 species <br />encompass 33 families and 77 genera. Lifeforms are represented <br />as follows: 32 trees, 24 shrubs and subshrubs, 16 graminoids, <br />44 forbs, and 4 succulents. The flora of the site is character- <br />ized by the presence of numerous annual weedy forbs, introduced <br />annual grasses, a diversity of native deciduous shrubs, and per- <br />ennial, native, cool season mid-grasses with a bunch grass growth <br />form.
