the sampling system and will be discarded prior to actually obtaining a filtered sample.
Equipment decontamination with deionized water will be performed between each sample
location.
Field measurements will include pH, dissolved oxygen, temperature, and specific conductance.
Specific conductance, temperature, and dissolved oxygen will be measured in situ using
portable specific conductance and dissolved oxygen meters. Field pH will be measured from
the composited water sample using a portable pH meter. If there is reason to suspect that
water in the stream cross section is not thoroughly mixed, specific conductance measurements
will be taken within 10 feet of both the right and left banks, and the results recorded to
document such conditions.
2.5 SAMPLE ANALYTICAL TESTING PROCEDURES
Water quality samples collected under this plan will be tested for a core list of chemical
parameters to provide a consistent basis for comparison of data between monitoring locations.
More detailed analysis of the pond water quality samples will be conducted on a quarterly
basis. Phis will provide additional chemical characterization of water in the pond on a
seasonal basis in the event discharge of water is necessary in the future. Table 3 lists the
analytical constituents and frequency of testing.
Table 3
Sample Analytical Constituent Testing Frequency
..::...:. .
;.:::.Coiistituenf :..;':::.::;.;
Currerit:Cl)PS::
':Weekl :.:
.:.:Montbl ..:
..Quati'terl :':
Flow X X
Visible Oil & Grease X
Field pH, conductivity,
tem rature, dissolved ox en X X X X
Alkalinit X X
Inor anics: Boron Floride X
Anions: sulfate, chloride X X
Nutrients: ammonia, nitrate,
nitrite X
16
