This water tank was shown as proposed livestock water tank 6-b on Map 9A <br />in the CYCC -Permit C-81-071 Volume 15A Permit Renewal and will be referred to as 6-b . <br />CYCC has developed the following response and certification to the Corrective Action Order <br />issued November 25, 1997 to comply with the Reaula[ions of the Colorado Mined Land <br />Reclamation Board for Coal Minink: <br />4.II5.9 /mpoundn:entc. <br />(lI l'crnuntent /mpoundntents. <br />Peruunrent inrpuundmerus for fire beneficial use of'stored water uuiv only be authorized in <br />accurd~urce with nppliccrble .State law and upon fire basis of dre following demonstration: <br />(rt) The quality of the impounded wider steal( be suitable on n permanent busi.e Jnr its <br />intended used and discharge of water front the irnpoandmen[ shall meet applicable <br />,Slide artd Federal water quality stnndurds. <br />Nu water quality data has been collected from 6-b. Water collected in this impoundment is due <br />to surface runoff fiom rain and snowmelt. The intended use of [his impoundment is for livestock <br />watering which requires TDS to be below 5,000 mg/I. Monitoring of spoils springs and <br />sedimentation impoundments at Mine 2 indicates typical TDS values a[ 2,400 mg/I or less. <br />Cattle and wildlife tracks around this impoundment indicate [ha[ i[ is being used for watering. <br />(b) The /eve! of water .ehull be ,ru~ciendy stable and [he cunfrguration of the <br />hnpuunchnent shall be adequate to support the intended use. <br />
