Re: Final Permit, Colorado Discharge Permit System - Storm Water
Certification No.: COG - 500808
CRYST.4LJACK (Mining Operation) (Colorado State Dlining and Reclamation
Permit No. M-93-030)
JOFIN 0. BUCKNER, Owner (Local Contact)
2516 Waldean St.
Colorado Springs, Colorado 80909-4015
Telephone No. (719) 634-4042
STORM WATER MANAGEMENT PLAN (.S~IVMP)
Please find and use the accompanying "Affected Lands" map which was prepared in
conjunction with the act of submitting an application for a Colorado State
Mining and Reclamation permit which was declared approved on April 26, 1993 by
the "Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board". (The issue number on the permit is
M-93-o3D)
The aforementioned "Affected Lands" map has been slightly modified by the
addition of information that it is hoped will sufficiently disclose the direction
of flow of storm waters, the points where their concentrated quantities will
discharge into the two small creeks in the area, along with (as near as can be
ascertained) the outfall points of the various relatively small mining
excavations that are being mined during this mining season (May through November
1993). A small "LEGEND" for the purpose of identifying the symbols used to show
the resultant storm water rvn-off characteristics has been added at the extreme
lower left area of the map. Symbols from the "LEGEND" will be found scattered
around/over the map indicating various storm water flow characteristics.
As required by the regwlations outlined in the permit a (SWMP) plan is thereby
produced as specified. This map, then, comprises all the features required for a
(S1VMP1 plan for the subject operation. This map will be updated with any
required additional information and submitted annually with accompanying reports
as the regulations so specify. Most all of the required features for a (SWMP)
plan can be found on the subject map and in the respective "LEGENDS".
BEST h'u1NAGEMENT PRACTICES (BM1's)
Tlie "Operator" of the subject mining operation believes that the narrative for
the "Reclamation Plan " (E.xhibit "D") required to obtain the Reclamation-Mining
permit (as submitted with the application for said permit) will sufficiently
answer many of the questions required for the (SWT'IP).
Said "Reclamation Plan" narrative consisting of 5 sheets of narrative are hereby
introduced and submitted, and if acceptable will save the "Operator" considerable
time and effort.
